This past Saturday, the Boys Swim and Dive team competed in the NIC meet in Elkhart. With eight teams competing, Saint Joe placed fourth, the highest placing since 2016! Led by coach Todd Tobolski, the boys fought hard having top 8 finishes and winning NIC awards.
The 400 free relay won an NIC honorable award by placing third over all, with the team of Jack Erdman, Ege Babaoglu, Raul Lara, and Tim Freel. Other top 8 finishers included Tim Freel, Jack Erdman, Raul Lara, Kareem Baki, and the 200 medley and free relays.
The Saint Joe boys team is filled with new swimmers, showing just how fast they can learn and compete in the sport. As the team grew this year, so did their scores. From placing 6th in the previous year, this team has fought hard and will continue to have a bright future ahead!
With Sectionals coming up in just three weeks, the boys are working hard for the last few weeks of the season. They have big goals for the upcoming meet, and hoping to finish out their season strong with some fast swimming. The captains are making sure to keep working hard and hopes the team will “keep dropping time and have multiple sectional finalists!”Boys Sectionals will be held at Mishawaka on the 20th and 22nd. Make sure to cheer on the boys as they end their season strong!
