Everyone has heard of the massive three day, two weekends a year festival, Coachella, but not many of us have the opportunity to go. This year this event takes place on April 11-13 and 18-20.
For those who are missing this year’s show-stopping performances, here’s a small recap of what’s happened on weekend one so far.
On April 11, day one, headliner Lady Gaga, as well as performers Missy Elliott, Benson Boone, and MARINA showcased their amazing performance. Lady Gaga had an amazing set list, playing hit songs like “Judas,” “Poker Face,” “Bad Romance,” “Die With a Smile,” and many other songs in a theater like style in five acts each with its own unique story line. Missy Elliott came out with a bang, earning raving reviews on her spectacular performance with songs like “Throw It Back” and even performed other hit songs like “1, 2 Step” by Ciara and “Where My Girls At” by 702. Benson Boone also played his most famous song, “In the Stars” in a short yet stunning performance with high energy. MARINA also played hit songs like “Primadonna” and “How to Be a Heartbreaker” in a fabulous performance.
On day two of the event, headliner Green Day performed as well as some other notable artists like Charli XCX and Travis Scott. Green Day’s performance was not as dazzling following day one, received more negative reviews on their setlist being that it was “hard to follow” and seemed less energetic than the day before. But nonetheless played some more hits like “Brain Stew” and “Welcome to Paradise.” Charli XCX came out with her newest hits playing songs like “360,” “Apple,” and “Guess” in an electric performance well loved by the crowds this year. She brought out crowd favorites like Alex Consani, Queen Blackwell, and Gabbriette to perform the iconic “Apple dance” together. Following this Travis Scott came out and played some crowd favorite including “FE!N,” “90210,” “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM,” and “I KNOW ?” in a energetic performance.
Day three, Post Malone came back with his most famous older hits, straying away from his new country look with iconic songs like “Wow.,” “Better Now,” “Sunflower,” “Congratulations,” and “rockstar” in a 90 minute long performance. But he couldn’t ever forget to include a song from his newest album playing “I Had Some Help” took a small detour to play a new country tune. Travis Scott returned for yet another high energy set alongside Megan Thee Stallion who played hit songs like “Wanna Be” and “B.A.S.” in a well loved set featuring other artists like Veronica Monét and Queen Latifah. Following the icons Zedd performed massive hits like “Clarity,” “Stay,” and “The Middle” (with Maren Morris) in a crowd favorite set.
