The Saint Joe Girls lacrosse team is on a roll with back to being ranked #1 after beating the former #1 team, Brownsburg on Saturday. The regular season is quickly coming to an end but that does not mean the girls are slowing down at all. The team has senior night on Tuesday, April 29th at home against Chesterton. This is to honor their nine seniors, Paige Goben, Lauren Frick, Gabby Botello, Shea Anderson, Maura Green, Chloe Alumbaugh, Kate O’Shaughnessy, Ellie Emberton, and Lucy Heirty.
Gabby said, “We have been playing really good together. We have all gotten so close and that has helped us improve on and off the feild. We have so much potential to be an amazing team and I can’t wait to see how this program improves. State here we come!”
Their head coach Josie Walters, and their assistant coach, Alaina Emerick have also been working very hard to make sure the girls make it as far as possible. With some great wins this season, but also some loses, the team always picks themselves up and take the loses as motivation to get better. To wrap up the regular season the girls will play Catherdral, Homestead, Munster, and Mattawan.
Lucy responded, “The season is going great! Being number one is a great feeling and we hope to keep it. You will be seeing us at state! Hoorah!”
Be sure to come out and support the girls in the last few weeks of their season, along with senior night!
