Finals are coming up at Saint Joe.
For seniors, finals will take place on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd. For the rest of the school, finals are just after memorial day.
Finals kick off on the 27th with Math and World Languages, on May 28th with Theology and English, and end with Social Studies and Science on May 29th. Even though it may seem early to start studying, there are many other ways to get ready.
Before you even start studying, make sure you have no missing assignments, as there is nothing worse than having to rush getting work done and turning it in on the last possible day, instead of studying for finals.
Make sure you stay attentive in class and take notes. Even though it may feel like summer already, school doesn’t just pause for nice weather. With finals coming up, the last thing you want to do is open your study guide the night before the final and realize you haven’t heard have of the stuff on it. This is also why you want to start studying as early as possible.
Also, take the time to get your notes organized, or even rewrite them down. Copying down in handwriting is proven to help you remember things. You can use this to study later. It is also a good idea to plan certain days to study for certain subjects, as a good schedule for studying can make everything much easier and stop you from procrastinating. When you study, try to use active recall. Quizzing yourself on the stuff you need to know is much more effective than just looking over notes.
You can also have friends quiz you. Studying in groups can ease the pressure, as you will be more motivated.
And as we get closer to finals, try to prioritize sleep. Sleeping will almost always help you perform better, so aim for 7-9 hours a night. In general, don’t stress too much about it. Finals are important, but its not the end of the world if you don’t do that well. Don’t be too harsh on yourself
Good luck!
