The leaves are falling off the trees, and the days are getting shorter, which can only mean one thing. Winter is rapidly approaching, and the 2026 Saint Joe ski season is now just a few months away. In this article, I’ll cover what you need to know about signing up, getting your rentals, and other general information about the club, so that you too can get out on the slopes.
For our ski season, we head up to Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Park in Jones, Michigan. We have a total of five outings that will take place on each Friday starting after Winter break. Please note that the outings are subject to being canceled if road and weather conditions are deemed too poor. Every member should meet at the busses outside the main office entrance right after school. We shoot to leave at around 3:30, and it takes about 45 minutes to make it up to Swiss. Please note that any students who sign up and intend on skiing with the club MUST take the bus up to Swiss. Students in the club are not permitted to drive their own vehicles up to Swiss for safety reasons.
If you are choosing to sign up for the club, you will be given five options for purchasing passes. The first and cheapest option is purchasing a club membership for $50. This covers transportation as well as entrance into Swiss, but does not include lift passes and rentals. The second option is $189, and includes transportation, entrance, and five lift passes, one for each outing. Rentals are not included, so this is recommended for skiers that already have their own equipment. The third option is $239, and includes everything covered AND rentals, so we recommend this for anyone who does not own skis or other equipment. Students can also choose to buy a season pass, which will grant you full access to Swiss Valley on weekdays and weekends.
Anyone interested in joining should email either our club president Brody, ([email protected]) or Mrs. Germann ([email protected]). They can take care of any requests from interested students. Please note that the club has a limited number of seats, many of which have already been taken, so any student interested in joining should email one of the above moderators soon. We hope to see as many new faces as possible, and we will catch you on the slopes Saint Joe!
