The Lady Huskies just ended their season with a big win (28-0) over Washington! They ended their season going 5-2, ranking 2nd in the conference below undefeated Penn High School.
They have had many stellar performances including big victories against Laville (73-8), Adams (28-0) and Riley (42-12). This team has been led by Coach Jared Dees and Coach Matt Blazejewski.
For never playing the sport and starting a completely brand new team, these girls have put in hard work and dedication which has been shown on the field. The girls have talked about how posiyive the environment is and how everyone will cheer you on no matter what.
There are five seniors on the team who have made huge impacts. On defense, G’Aliyah Mitchem averages 5 tackles a game. Mary Maher and Vivian Glavich also contribute to the defense by each averaging 2 tackles a game. On the offensive side, Mary Stack and Kambria Martin are big contributors. Kambria Martin, the center, runs off to the side for easy get-away passes while the wide receiver Mary Stack goes downfield for the long pass. In the game against Adams, Mary Stack had 215 receiving yards and one touchdown reception while Kambria Martin had two touchdown receptions.
The team fell in the first round of the playoffs in a close battle with Elkhart, but they plan to return in 2026 ready ot build on the success of this first season!
