The Saint Joe Boys Tennis Team looks to make history in Regionals and Semi-State but faces a challenging road ahead. The team is coming off a 16-3 season, with losses to Culver Academy, Carmel, and Homestead High School, all teams they could face again on the road to the State Championships.
They will kick off State against one of their toughest opponents yet, Culver Academy, who defeated them in their last meeting in a close 2-3 match. Even with those tough losses, the boys have dominated their schedule, winning 10 out of their 16 matches in 5-0 fashion.
Team captains Noah Dabolski, Charlie Helm, and David Poleneki are focused on building up their younger varsity players and preparing them for the challenges ahead. Brothers Oliver and Jacob Hix have been dominating in singles play, defeating nearly all of their opponents, while Jack Mattison has also been winning matches in impressive athletic fashion.
In doubles, Ben Brady and Jaxson Ashfeld continue to dominate, as do Junior Cole Halfpenny and Senior Noah Dabolski, though both doubles teams will face tough competition as they head toward State.
The team defeated Chesterton and Culver Academy to advaance through semi-state into the state final rounds where they will first face Penn. The Saint Joe Boys Tennis Team looks to make history this year as State Champions on their challenging Road to Glory.
