Ronald McDonald House Charities Club

Liam Fuller

For those wondering how to help others in the midst of the pandemic, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Club is a perfect opportunity.

There are hundreds of RMHC branches around the world, including one in downtown South Bend. They can provide housing and other essential services to those in need of financial and emotional support. The Ronald McDonald House Charities Club, started by Ellie Miller, focuses on creating awareness and support for the RMHC.

A big part of the charity and fundraising efforts at the RMHC is the annual pop tab drive. The pop tab drive focuses on creating awareness by providing the opportunity for individuals to support families in need. These funds help cover the cost for utilities, food, and other supplies the house may need. At SJHS, we are hoping to begin our pop tab drive in mid-February and plan for it to run until the end of April. Our goal is to raise as much awareness as we can.

There will also be meetings right after school in Mrs. Kostielney’s room on February 8th and 10th.
