The Final Countdown. Crunch time for the Spring Musical

Brian Gring, Staff Writer

After months of hard work and health screenings, Saint Joe’s production of Godspell is almost ready for production. With just under a week until opening night, the cast is getting ready to see their work pay off.

The musical season started off with auditions in January. Rehearsal soon followed every Monday through Thursday until now. The cast and crew have a rigorous two weeks to go, with rehearsal/crew meeting nearly every day until performances. The Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before performances, the cast is called from 3:30 to 9:00 p.m. Despite these long hours, everyone is still very excited to perform.

Genevieve Lake, one of the cast members, had this to say about the last weeks of the season.”The musicals going well, it’s really coming together and everyone is working really hard. Plus it’s been a lot of fun and I think performances will go well. I’m excited to see the final product of all our hard work.”

Along with all of this excitement comes a lot of stress. Performing a musical always comes with problems and last minute changes, both of which are much more prevalent in a pandemic. All of this aside, St. Joseph High School’s production of Godspell should be one for the ages. Performances are Thursday March 25, Friday March 26, and Saturday March 27, with two performances on Saturday. Don’t miss this year’s musical.
