Boys Tennis Continues Winning Streak

The Boys JV and Varsity Tennis Teams continued their hot streak with wins over cross town rival Adams (12-0)), as well as Plymouth (9-5) and Goshen (5-0) last week.

Going into these matches, the team was feeling very confident after the Varsity earned first place in the kick off season tournament.   Senior Captain, Kyle Fernandez, said, “This was the first time we won the tournament ( in both singles and doubles) … it was just clicking.  It was a great start to the season and so much confidence was carried onto the next week.”

Senior Captain, Ollie Kaufhold said, “I saw noticeable improvement from all our players.  We didn’t simply react to the heat, we responded by pushing ourselves and our teammates harder than other teams did and that was how we were able to take home the trophy.  I’m very proud of the strong supportive community that we were able to create for our team, and because of that support we were able to win matches that our players thought they would lose.”

Both the Varsity and JV teams hope to continue their winning streak as they take on Culver and Elkhart this week.  Varsity will travel to Crown Point, IN on Saturday for another tournament.
