Michiana’s Top Five Fall Activities

Cure your summer withdrawal with these 5 fall activities in our backyard!

With Labor Day weekend, otherwise known as the unofficial end of summer, in the rearview mirror, fall is slowly creeping up on us. From pumpkin patches to haunted houses, Michiana has ample opportunities for everyone to get out and about this season and enjoy all that autumn has to offer. Here are 5 things to do in Michiana this season that are essential additions to your fall bucket list. Click the corresponding image to learn more about each activity.

  1. Get lost in a 15-acre corn maze and explore close to 100 fun family activities at A-Mazing Acres. Explore the pumpkin patch and pick up a bag of the famous homemade kettle corn while you’re there.

  2. Explore a field of sunflowers or hop on a wagon ride at Thistleberry Farm. Pedal cars and a giant jumping pillow prove fun for all ages as well as the four corn mazes and corn cannon that are housed by the farm.

  3. Hunt for the perfect apples among a vibrant background of towering trees at Lehman’s Orchard in Niles. Pay for what you pick in a small shack filled with other homemade jams and preserves made with berries and fruits grown right at the orchard.

  4. Wander along fiery-leaf lined trails at St. Patrick’s County Park. Follow the meandering St. Joseph River through the park as you watch leaves softly drift from their lofty branches from many feet above, all while taking in the crisp fall air.

  5. Visit Niles Scream Park to explore this famous local attraction… if you dare. The park is home to not only the storied haunted house itself, but also many more spooky attractions that are redesigned each year for maximum scare factor.
