As the boy’s tennis Sectional Final wound down again Riley, Daniel Pries won his match against Riley 6-1, 6-0 to obtain 100 career wins.

Pries, a senior, has had a long journey to get to this point. As a freshman phenom, he was placed at 3 singles and obtained no losses his entire season. After the departure of his brother, Thomas, Daniel matured into the role of #1 single his sophomore year, and still holds this position today. Since his sophomore year, he continues to rack up his wins, only losing twice during the individual state finals of his sophomore and junior years, and 1 time in the regular season of his senior year.

After celebrating his win, Pries said, “I am very happy to say that I have won 100 wins, but it is still something I cannot fully wrap my head around. Moving forward, I know that I have already had a great career and made great friendships with my teammates that will last forever, so in the upcoming days and weeks, I will continue reflecting on how grateful I am to be a part of the Saint Joe team. Making it to state a third time would be the cherry on top to an already unforgettable high school tennis experience.”

Pries looks to qualify for the individual state finals – either via the team advancing to the finals or remaining undefeated in the tournament play.

The Saint Joseph Tennis Team won the regional championshipĀ  at LaPorte where Daniel obtained his 101st and 102nd wins of his career. They advance to semis-state on Saturday October 9th against Carmel.
