Senior Spotlight on Joey Buczynski

Bella Giles

Joey Buczynski has been bowling for the Saint Joe team for all four years of his high school career and has bowled for ten years of his life.

Buczynski’s favorite place to bowl is Parkway Lanes. While Chippewa is his home lane for bowling for Saint Joe, they are his least favorite lanes to bowl at. Of the countless games he has bowled over his ten years, one stands out – a perfect 300 where he threw nothing but strikes.

Buczynski says his favorite memory from all of his time bowling is when he got his first sanction 300 which basically means it actually counts unlike the ones at practice that we would get. He started bowling because his dad decided to sign him up for a youth league and that is where his love for bowling started.

To continue his career he does plan on bowling in college as long as they offer it. Regardless he will always come back to bowl with his dad. In college he plans to pursue some type of engineering program but is unsure at the moment which one he wants to do. His top two schools are Indiana State and Purdue and he says he will be happy with either one of them. Buczynski is so thankful for all the memories bowling/Saint Joe has offered him and he is very happy that he has been a part of the Saint Joe family.
