As the air has grown colder and the nights longer, I have found myself staring at my closet more and more. I try to piece together outfits that are new and exciting but also don’t leave me shivering after thirty seconds outside. Here is a quick look at what is trending in fashion this winter season! 

1) Mini uggs 

It is no surprise that these boots are iconic year after year. Whether it’s the basic 

calf-length Ugg or a slipper, Uggs have been a staple in everyone’s wardrobe for years. Thisseason it’s the miniature, ankle-length uggs that are taking the world by storm.

2) Cozy Knits

From sweater sets to cable-knit socks, sweaters and knits are in full swing this season. As a continuation of quarantine-chic, comfort is a priority in many people’s wardrobes. 

3) Long coats

Long hemlines have not been a foreign concept in fashion. As seen last season with midi and maxi skirts, longer coats have taken center stage. From trench coats to wool boyfriend coats, the possibilities are endless. Plus, they lock in the heat as winter goes on. 

4) Tights and Stockings 

Short skirts are no longer just a warm weather look! As tights and stockings become more and more popular, new colors and patterns are popping up right alongside them. Pair your favorite dress or skirt with some polka dot tights for an added flair to a staple outfit. 

5) Plaid skirts

Whether it’s your Christmas dress from 2007 or your elementary school uniform, plaid is back. Patterned pants and skirts are stealing the show this holiday season, so show up to your next Christmas party or New Year’s gathering rocking this pattern.
