Festive Holiday Activities

Grace Ryal, Staff Writer/ Reporter

This Christmas season, people are eager to get back to their traditions after a year of COVID putting a pause on usual traditions. Even though COVID is still very much present, families are starting to feel more comfortable around each other with the vaccine being available for so long. If you like being warm this holiday season, here are some fun activities you can do indoors.

Baking cookies, making gingerbread houses, and decorating your house for Christmas! If you like the cold, you can go ice skating at Howard Park or Compton Ice Arena, skiing, or if there is enough snow, build a snowman. These can be hard to do if you are not in the Christmas mood, so some movies you can watch to prepare yourselves are Elf, Home Alone, and A Christmas Story.

Some things that help me are driving around and looking a the fun Christmas lights and getting hot chocolate! Most importantly, this holiday season you should let the ones you love know that you appreciate them! Putting up a Christmas tree, decorating with ornaments, and putting a star at the top of the tree is the ultimate and easiest festive active! If you like to sing, you can go caroling in your neighbor or to nursing homes with fellow talented singers. Fun Christmas party ideas are White Elephant, Secret Santa, and cookie decorating competitions!
