Whether you’re in a relationship or not, Valentine’s Day can be celebrated by everyone. It can be an expression of love to friends, family, and your significant other.

Valentine’s Day has traditionally been a day of cheesy, cliche gifts that you give to another person. However, there are some easy, affordable gifts that are completely original.

Instead of giving just chocolate and roses (while they are appreciated), you can show your love by cooking them a meal and making a “date night” out of it to spend some quality time together.

Instead of just saying “I love you”, you can show the love by creating a book of 50 reasons why you love them. Whether you give this to a guy or a girl, they will really love it.

While getting jewelry may seem like a typical gift, you could get something meaningful for the two of you engraved on it. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t appreciate that.

Rather than getting something serious, you could opt for a funny gift instead. Writing a cute but funny letter is always a great idea. You could also make socks or another article of clothing with your own face printed on them. While your significant other may not wear it out to a nice dinner like they would jewelry, they could wear it around the house and laugh about how dumb it looks.

Even though Valentine’s Day falls during the cold winter, you can bundle up and take a nice walk around your snowy city. Just spending quality time together can make for the perfect Valentine’s Day.
