Senior Spotlight: Jack Quinn
February 27, 2022
When Coach Gaff was hired to become the new head boys basketball coach, he called all the soon-to-be seniors into a meeting. His goal of the meeting was to make sure the boys knew he was looking for a leader to fill the shoes left behind by the 2021 class. One of the seniors in that room who has stood out as a leader is Jack Quinn.
Last season, Jack started the year off with a smaller role but earned himself more playing time after a scrappy game at Penn. His time spent learning from others has prepared him to take the next step forward this year.
“Previous classes have showed me how hard work is necessary in order to be successful. You cannot just expect things to go your way if you do not put anything into it.”
And hard work was exactly what Jack has put into the game. Over the summer he spent many early mornings getting work at the ‘Barn’ in Granger understanding that it takes dedication to be a leader, not just for this year’s team but for the future basketball teams at Saint Joe.
As the boys basketball season winds down, Jack has his eyes set on winning a sectional championship, as well as the upcoming baseball season.
“I’m very excited for baseball season, but hopefully that is put off for a little bit by a deep playoff run in basketball.”
The Indians enter sectional play next week against the winner of Washington and John Glenn.
