The Saint Joe Track and Field team has their senior night on May 4th this year. Not only is it a night to celebrate the senior athletes, it is also a night of fierce rivalry, as the team takes on Marian.

The meet is technically being hosted by Marian, and as a result it is also Marian’s senior night. However, the meet is being held at Saint Joe’s track.

With JV NIC occurring this weekend, and Varsity NIC occurring within the next week, senior night will be a night of fun for all graduating athletes. The senior’s on the men’s team include Brendan Pruitt, Alex Garcia, Sam Forchetti, Josh Frabutt, Colten Brandt, Nick Njuguna, Oliver Kaufhold, Quinn Willerton, Daniel Pries, Liam Kempf, and Thomas Helm. The senior’s on the women’s side are Cat Suarez, Grace Yuhas, Mary Clare Elliot, Ellie Miller, Katie Lavelle, Stella Toothaker, Lindsey Gutermuth, Audra Meyer, Kelly Ratigan, Maddy Tubbs.

For some athletes, this is their first year participating in track, and for others it is their fourth year as track athletes. For example, seniors Pruitt, Garcia, Forchetti, Brandt, and Frabutt have all ran distance over the course of their four years at Saint Joe, with their work and effort all culminating for senior night.

Overall. the night went incredibly well. There were numerous personal records broken, and all seniors ran in at least one event. The team also blew out Marian, winning the entire meet comfortably.

Senior Night for Track and Field was a great success. It was not only a great night to remember the seniors who have committed time and effort into the program, but it was also a victorious meet.
