Saint Joe wins the holy war for the first time since 2018 in a thriller.

The Indians scored first as Brady Langager walked into the end zone from 4 yards out. The Knights were quick to respond as they drove all the way down to field to tie the game at 7-7. Saint Joe was looking to respond to the Marian touchdown, but there were stoped by the Knights on a 3 and out. Saint Joe went to punt but it was blocked and recovered in the end zone for a Marian touchdown.

Despite the setback, the Indians did not give up. They quickly drove down the field and scored on a trick play. Alex Ortiz handed the ball off to Hayden Miller and then Hayden passed it back to Ortiz for the Saint Joe six. Gerry Jones kicked the extra point to tie the game at 14-14 going into halftime.

The 3rd quarter was a defensive battle and was scoreless. Marian broke the scoring drought midway through the 4th, but yet again Saint Joe came back and drove down the field in less than 2 minutes and Liam Lamont caught a pass from Alex Ortiz to tie it up. The game ran out of time with a score 21-21 and forced overtime.

Saint Joe got the ball first and Brady Langager scored on a run again to put tribe up 28-21. All Saint Joe had to do was keep them out of the end zone now. The Indians defense forced a 4th down. On the last play of the game the Marian QB threw the ball up to the receiver but Hayden Miller was there to knock it down. The students stormed the field. This was the first time the holy war had ever gone into overtime. This game now enters lore among the most memorable battles in the storied history of the rivalry between Saint Joe and Marian.
