It’s that time of year again. It is basketball time in the Hoosier state. The best place in the world for basketball. The Saint Joe seasons starts mid-November. The boys have been grinding this off season and are hungry to start playing. For sophomores, juniors and seniors, tryouts are immediately after school on Monday November 7th. For Freshman tryouts will follow right after the upperclassman are done.

The team is still very young and is led by senior captain Gabe Nanni. Gabe Nanni was the only senior on the squad last year. Nanni has big shoes to fill with Jack Quinn and Cole Hatkevich graduating last year. Chase Konieczny and Brashaun Woods are two very talented sophomores who earned significant playing time as freshman and are looking to make a big impact on this year’s team.

Coach Gaff will start his second year of coaching this winter. He played basketball professionally overseas in Australia and has a great knowledge for the game. He would appreciate anyone trying out for the team. He is also a physical education teacher here at Saint Joe High School so stop in to ask him any questions if you have any.

The teams first game is versus Riley on December 12th. They have scrimmages and exhibition games before that but the team is very excited and cannot wait to play.
