Out of everyone in our year, I think of no one more productive than the incredible Samuel Norwood. He’s one of the most accomplished people I know, often getting things done into the late hours of the night and being effective at everything he tries.
Norwood became Captain of the Tennis team. Since he was elected, this means he was a popular and talented leader.
Norwood is also Stage Manager for the musical during the Spring Semester, where he will have responsibility over almost everything that goes on in it. When asked what he did to deserve the position, he said he was good at interviewing. His training during the previous year also definitely paid off on making him the best candidate. His ability to lead people will definitely come in handy once the musical rolls around.
Norwood has a clear plan for his talents: he wants to do computer or mechanical engineering in college. He’s always been good at building computers, so he thinks this is a good path for him.
This made me wonder: What makes Samuel so talented? How does he do it? He said his philosophy is to always “be kind to other people.” You can’t know “what battles are raging through their minds.” Apparently this method was enough to get him elected Captain! He said “smile more” is a good summary. Just let people know you’re with them in whatever they’re facing.
Plus, Norwood can whistle with his tongue rolled into a hot dog. That’s pretty cool.
