Varsity boy’s soccer gave it there all on Tuesday, and came away with a well-deserved 5-0 win over New Prairie. The Indians played a great match under the lights that has helped push them on deeper into sectionals.

Early goals came in from Kyle Smith, Jonah Cruz, Jack Andrew, and Gabe Nanni. All these goals came within about 15 minutes of each other, and helped Saint Joe propel to a 4-0 lead. This is when the possession began, with Saint Joe heading into halftime with a very good amount of possession. After the break, the team came out possessive, wearing out the opposing players. Eventually, this domination led to the fifth goal, scored by Kai Lulic.

However, the entire game was centered around the strong Saint Joe midfield, which possessed the ball for nearly the whole game.  As a result, New Prairie had no shots throughout the entirety of the game.

Saint Joseph plays the second round of sectionals on Wednesday, October 7th against Washington. If Saint Joe can play a similar game as they did on Tuesday, they might get into the sectional finals.
