Who knew someone could be a cross country captain, a track star, the Student Body Secretary, and the 12 Angry Jurors and Fiddler on the Roof lead roles? Elliot Mark has defied the odds and is all of these things. Mark is highly dedicated in every activity he is a part of and pushes the programs to new heights.
Mark has been a part of the cross country team under Coach McCarthy since his freshman year. He is dedicated to running almost every day in the summer. He decreased his time every year and is always improving. This dedication led to Mark eventually being named a captain of the team for his senior year. He has also been in track for all four years running distance events.
Mark is also heavily involved in Student Government being the class Secretary for his Sophomore and Junior year, and Student Body Secretary for his senior year. Mark is one of the leaders taking charge of the Student Government constitutional rewrite currently occurring.
However, Mark is not only excellent on the track and in the office, but on the stage as well. Mark has been a principal role for 5 out of his 8 shows at Saint Joe. He was Horace Vandergelder in Hello Dolly, Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Willard Hewitt in Footloose, a lead as Juror #8 in 12 Angry Jurors, and the lead role in Fiddler on the Roof as Tevye. Mark has also participated in Summerfly at Clay High School where he was the lead role in the Drowsy Chaperone.
Mark intends to pursue theater in college and there’s no surprise as to why. His accomplishments are quite impressive and he will go far in life. Make sure to come out and support Mark in his last Saint Joe production, Fiddler on the Roof, at Bethel University February 29th through March 2nd.
