Places To Serve For Christian Service

Gabriel Dawson, Editor

This year, students are adjusting to a new style of Christian Service. However, there are still many different ways to serve those around the community even with the limitations of the virus. You are even able to serve at your own home this year, as long as parents can verify how you served. Two locations particularly in need of volunteers are:

Food Bank of Northern Indiana

Allison Schoenfeld is the experience and programs manager here. Reach out by calling 574.232.9986 ext. 127.

Catholic Charities – Food Pantry

The Catholic Charities food pantry is another great place to serve and benefit those in the community. Karissa Courtois is the mission advancement coordinator here and would be happy to set something up with students. Give her a call at 574-234-3111 ext. 22.

Students can also do things like pray the rosary together, as a corporal work of mercy. So be creative with new ways to serve. If you have any other ways to serve in mind, feel free to ask Mrs. Kershner if it meets the requirements for Christian Service. You can contact her at kkershner@saintjoehigh. Keep serving with joy Indians!
