This year we will have German exchange students visiting our school. They are all from around Tübingen. Some of our students at Saint Joe have gone to Germany over the summer and stayed at their partner’s houses. Now we are having them come to the United States and staying with us. They will be staying in America for 2 weeks from October 19th until November 2nd. They will learn about American culture and what it’s like to live in Indiana. They are all 6 hours ahead in Tübingen so they will have to get used to our timezone. Some of the Germans are also staying with people who are at Marian high school.
During our time in Germany we visited many unique and interesting places, we went to a Chocolate factory, Multiple castles, and many towns where we could walk around and explore what life is like living in those areas. We will have the German exchange students visit many places that are new to them when they arrive. Marek Schosker, who went on the Exchange program last summer, said “It was an amazing experience!”
We will be doing many activities with them like taking them to sporting events, visiting the Studebaker museum, touring Notre Dame, and going to national parks. During the few days that they go through a full day of school with us they might be able to go to government or German classes if they have nothing else to do in their host’s classes.
Say “Hallo” (hello), “Guten morgen” (good morning), or “Guten Tag” (Good day) if you see them in the hallways!
