Quiz Bowl: trivia ranging from which Greek god is associated with a lightning bolt to what female artist made the song “Shake it Off.” It’s vast, that’s for sure. 

Mr. Dillon, coach of the Quiz Bowl team, is a veteran of the game. As a Quiz Bowl team member at Saint Joe and Purdue University, he has been a fanatic of Quiz Bowl for many years. With Ms. Lamp as another coach, both have diligently trained the Quiz Bowl team for success.

But let’s not take my word; let’s look at the stats. The game against Mishawaka: 435-15. Riley? 415-5. Alright, how about Marian: 290-175.

 Saint Joe Varsity Quiz Bowl has been dominating the field. 

Win after win is looking great, especially as the varsity team heads to nationals in June. “If we can be successful against Adams next week, I think we can have good momentum going into the state tournament,” said Coach Lamp. Senior player Cormac Kennedy added, “My favorite moment has been beating Adams to win the Holland Invitational, which puts us in a good position for a deep run in state and nationals.”

Senior Varsity players Cole Kurzhal, Teddy Berente, Brendan Willamowski, and Cormac Kennedy will lead the team in the upcoming Buzzathon and other state tournaments. To put it bluntly, the team is hungry for more. The coaches and the players are eager for state and nationals. But I guess for now, we will just have to wait and see what the Quiz Bowlers achieve.
