Brashaun Woods is a senior at Saint Joe. He has attended Saint Joe all four years and has also been a part of the Varsity Basketball team. But basketball is not the only thing Woods does at Saint Joe. He is also part of the SADD Club where he helps with Students Against Destructive Decisions.
Woods says, “I love building lifelong bonds with my teammates on and off the court.” On the court, Woods sees himself as a leader making sure his teammates stay in line in practices so they can preform better on game days. Off the court, he loves reading, as well as playing Video Games Like NBA2k and NCAA25. Woods also likes to listen to Rappers like Drake, Uzi and Gunna. After High school, Woods plans on going off to college where he would like to pursue sports management. Brashaun loves watching basketball especially the NBA where his favorite team, the Los Angeles Lakers and favorite player, LeBron James are a true inspiration for him on what it means to be dedicated to the sport.
The favorite experience of his career was the squad making it to the state championship. Woods says, “Going to state felt amazing because it’s not something everyone gets to experience. Being with the guys I fought so hard with all season through the ups and downs made the experience even better. I will never forget the feeling when I walked into that arena for the first time, and playing on that Court along side my teammates that I worked so hard with all season in front of all those fans, it was surreal.”
Head coach of the team, Eric Gaff says, “It has been a pleasure to watch Brashuan grow and develop as a basketball player, community member, leader, and follower of Christ. He exemplifies what it means to put his PACK first. He has set a wonderful example of what it means to be a part of our community and more importantly what it means to be a Saint Joe Hooper.”
