The candidates running for Junior Class Representative, Class of 2027 are Rebecca Anatolios, Nick Baxter, Jack Betz, Sarah Conlon, Sofia Fargier, Jessa Howard, Kate Kurzhal, Rebecca Lizarraga, Isabella Loaiza, Catherine Lutz, Samuel Mark, Kate McAward, Mallory Milligan, Genesis Ruiz, Megan Sullivan, Payton Wulf, and Audrey Zielinski.
Rebecca Anatolios – I want to be an elected member of Student government because I know that I can be fully committed to making Saint Joe a more enjoyable place for everyone. I’ve been involved in many different activities at Saint Joe in two years, from cross-country and track to the spring musical each year. Through this committed involvement in different environments, I’ve gotten the chance to develop leadership in many different settings. I’ve learned how to work with other people productively and happily, and I can bring that leadership and excitement to student government.
Nick Baxter – I wish to be elected because I truly want to help. I want to help make a difference for our student body. I want to help planning the dances. And I want to help make Junior year as fun and happy as it can be. I think through the student governments work we can do so much to improve the school year. I can’t wait for Junior year and I want it to be a year we’ll remember fondly.
Jack Betz – I wish to be elected as a representative of Student Government for the junior class so that I may act as the best mediator between the junior class and Saint Joseph leadership. I believe that with the variety of people I interact with on a daily basis, I would hold a good understanding of what problems or changes may exist or need to be addressed in our school as a whole. Being elected as a representative of my sophomore class previously has been a very insightful process for me, as I was able to grow in understanding of how other students in our student government view certain issues through the meetings held with the whole, expanding upon my current understanding of our issues. Being a representative this year will further expand my knowledge of issues in our school for the better. For these reasons, I can promise you that in this position, I will be able to communicate all issues, class and school-wide alike, to my superior class officers for you, the Saint Joseph community.
Sarah Conlon – I wish to be an elected representative for the Junior class. Student government would offer me a chance to develop valuable leadership skills. I want to be able to help the student body as a whole by being a cause of change. By doing so, I also want to help build more community in Saint Joe. I want to be able to help make saint joe a better place, which is why I would like to be a class representative.
Sofia Fargier – I wish to be a representative for the Junior class because I feel passionate about creating a positive change for our school. I believe it is very important for the voice of every student to be heard and respected. By advocating for what students believe we are able to make change and improve our school community.
Jessa Howard – I would like to be able to help with planning for events such as dances and spirit week days/activities. I think representatives should be well-organized, dedicated students. I think I meet this, and will be helpful during meetings, and planning school activites.
Kate Kurzhal – I want to be an elected member of Student Government. This is because I want to help serve the Saint Joe High School community and make it a better place. I would like to help implement things that would help the student body as a whole. I want to get more involved in government, so I can help implement change when something is not right or could be better. Taking action on behalf of myself and the student body is why I want to be an elected member of Student Government.
Rebecca Lizarraga – I wish to be an elected member of Student Government to have a voice. A voice in what choices are to be made on behalf of the students, when it benefits us or gives us a disadvantage. Junior year is the year that students are stressed about college, grades and life overall. I want to help make next year as enjoyable as possible. Whether its prom, Catholic Schools Week, and more. Besides the fun activities awaiting us for next year, I want to be apart of the voice for my Junior Class to express how students truly feel about certain decisions. For the students who complain about the rules, or for the students who love having dress down days every week. In a perfect world, we all could be heard but that is not the case. Due to this, I want to be an elected member of Student Government to allow everyone to be heard.
Isabella Loaiza – I want to be a member of Student Government because I believe that our voices as student should be heard more by those in charge. Many students have valid concerns that they want to share, but feel that their concerns won’t be taken seriously. I want to push for our voices to be heard, and to represent the student body that makes this school and community what it is.
Catherine Lutz – I wish to be an elected member of Student Government because I believe that I can both lead and respond to others in my class. By finding a balance between listening to what others are passionate about and advocating for them myself, I know that I can help the class of 2027 reach its greatest potential. Through my dedication, resilience, and drive, I strive towards not just my own personal excellence, but the excellence of our community. In my involvement in multiple clubs and sports that Saint Joe offers, I am able to have a unique viewpoint of the lives of my classmates. Because of this, I believe that my role as a student representative will allow me to voice the opinions of those around me and support them.
Samuel Mark – I am running for Junior Class Representative because I am experienced, dedicated, and committed to serving my classmates. Having successfully served as Sophomore Class President, I understand the responsibilities that come with student leadership—such as planning events, leading discussions, and representing our class with integrity. I am actively involved in extracurricular activities like theater, track, and cross country, which allows me to stay connected with a wide range of students. I don’t just participate—I show up and cheer on my peers at their events, too. These experiences have helped me build strong relationships across our class, and I am ready to be a representative who truly listens and speaks for all of us.
Kate McAward – I am running for Junior Class Representative because I am committed to making our school environment a more positive and inclusive place. As a member of the Saint Joe community, I believe that every student deserves to have their voice heard and respected. Through Student Government, I will work to ensure that all voices are valued and represented. I see this opportunity not only as a way to serve my classmates, but also as a chance to grow as a leader and a listener. I have enjoyed taking on leadership roles in various activities during my time at Saint Joe, and being elected as a representative would allow me to continue contributing in a meaningful way. I am proud to be a part of our school, and I hope to make a positive impact by helping create a community where everyone feels loved, respected, and heard. Serving in Student Government would truly be an honor, and I am ready to represent and serve our class to the best of my ability.
Mallory Milligan – I wish to be elected as a part of Saint Joe’s Student Government because I would love to be involved with the school and I want to be a part of making our school an even better place. I’m really passionate about listening to people’s ideas and making sure everyone feels heard and included.
Genesis Ruiz – I would like to become a junior representative for Student Government because I would like to positively contribute to Saint Joseph High School, and help improve our school. I think that by becoming a junior class representative, I would help all students be heard by faculty and staff, and help everyone feel represented and heard. This is important to me because I would like to make positive changes to our school that would benefit everyone. As a representative, I would put all students opinions and beliefs before mine, to make sure that all opinions would be heard, no matter my stance on the issue. I would focus on making Saint Joe’s environment more positive and welcoming.
Megan Sullivan – I want to be an elected member of Student Government because I have enjoyed this past year as a representative. Also I want to have a say in being able to improve the Saint Joe High community. I want to help make it an even more fun and uplifting place. I would be able to do this by helping students be able to express themselves in the dress down days and spirit weeks chosen by Student Government. Also, as a junior I would be able help make Mid-Winter and Prom an even more fun and memorable time.
Payton Wulf – I wish to be an elected member of student government because I want to serve my peers, by bringing people together. I would like to be able to use my voice to advocate for all comments my classmates have to the improve the student experience at St. Joe. High school is an amazing time in our lives, and I want to be sure that St. Joe lives up to these expectations. I am passionate about all clubs and teams at St. Joe and I would love to be able to bring our students together to share in the experience of these formative high school years. If elected, I want to make our school a more comfortable environment for us all.
Audrey Zielinski – I wish to be an elected member of Student Government because I enjoy doing things to better the school. I want to contribute my ideas to group discussions to make creative contributions to the school. Like themes for spirit week. I like doing things like planning dances and I want to help as much as I can.
