Clare Barth – I want to be apart of Student Government because I believe it will be an educational experience and it will help me interact with my peers. They are good representatives of their class and exhibit what it is to be an ideal saint joe student.
Charlotte Borger – I wish to be an elected member of Student Government to improve the school community for all students. I understand that everyone has different challenges at school, whether they be academic, social, or otherwise. If elected, I hope to help students in some way in each category of issue, because I understand that each person has different aspects of life that challenge them. As a rising sophomore, I feel that I have seen and faced many challenges, and have also done my best to help others through theirs. I aspire to continue helping in such ways, and being elected would give me a wider range of opportunities to make a difference and improve the school community for everyone, whatever their challenges may be.
Rachael Caron Gebhardt – I wish to be an elected member of student government because I believe it is a good program that will allow me to grow and improve in my leadership and ability to work with others. I also want to be able to help make decisions regarding activities at my school no matter how big or small.

I want everyone to feel welcome and like a part of the Saint Joe community. I see myself contributing to student leadership at Saint Joe by always keeping an open mind and listening to all students opinions while trying to implement them.
Jessica Deitering – I want to be a member of Student Government because I want to take part in the Saint Joe community and help work to make school a welcoming place for all students. I think that an officer or representative at Saint Joe should be a relatable person who is eager to listen to ideas, and want to help make a change. I see myself contributing to student leadership at Saint Joe by being an approachable person, who will work to help the Student Government in any way needed so that we can all enjoy Saint Joe High fully.
Clare Dolezal – I want to be elected for a student representative because I want to be more involved at school and be a voice for the student body. This role can help me grow in leadership and learn more about what happens at Saint Joe. I would like to have the chance to represent my class, and bring ideas from students to student government.
Lucy Dunham – I think I would be a good leader and I enjoy helping people. I would be a good person to represent the voice of my student body class and I am a good communicator. Communication as a class representative is important because communication is important to get information out to a large number of students. It is also helpful to get the opinions and concern of my peers to the president of the student body. Being a leader is important so I can set an example of how being a capable student at SJHS looks like and what a capable class representative looks like.
Quinn Hedges – Being in student government allows me to discuss rules in this school that I do not believe in. I can make differences by expressing my opinion and representing my sophomore class so the school can improve. I want to focus on things that will make students feel comfortable and have security that they are safe. I feel strongly that some of the rules in the dress code are to strict and would want to discuss how to improve it to allow individually and confidence in the students of SJHS. I also want to discuss ideas on how we can reduce stress in the school environment.
Elizabeth Helm – I wish to become an elected member of student government because I would like to create a better environment for students to thrive in. I believe that every student can focus and thrive in the right environment. The problem is that everyone has different environments that they work in best. I would like to work on an adaptable environment that can suit each person individually and not just as a group. I can work on this by having specialized groups during flex that include others that are all ages that have or had the problem that the student has. This will allow for students to discuss issues from all grades with being that can relate to that student’s problem or how they fixed/solved their problems to help the student feel more relaxed and ready to learn for other classes.
Delia Kennedy – I wish to be elected onto Student Government to have a bigger voice in the school for myself and for others. I want to be able to stand up for issues in the school for anyone, and be someone people can come to with any issues or concerns. I believe student government holds a big role in the school, and I would be honored to undertake this role and work towards further improving our school and making it an overall better place.
Helen Logue – I am running for Class Representative because I want to continue supporting our class and helping create a space where every student can grow and thrive. Having served as Class Secretary, I understand the importance of organization and communication in student leadership. I believe that when students are organized, they are better able to succeed—and I want to continue helping provide that structure. I’ve been an active participant in Student Government meetings, always ready to contribute ideas and advocate for our class. I also see this role as a way to give a voice to those who may be too shy to speak up, making sure everyone feels heard and valued. With my experience and dedication, I’m ready to keep representing our class and working toward a better school community for all.
Matthew Macaluso – Student Government is the organization by which SJHS students are able to offer their voice and talents to get things done and leave the school better than how they found it. I want to contribute to my school community in meaningful ways and be a spokesperson for my class who gets things done. From planning activities and spirit days to conducting fundraisers, I hope to be someone students can look to for help or assistance. In addition to representing my classmates, I’m also eager to be a connector between students and teachers and advocate for the needs and wishes of my classmates. Serving as a representative would be an honor I would not take lightly.
Carlo Mollison – I wish to be an elected member of student government to make sure my fellow classmates voices are heard. I also want to play a more active role in the school community. I would like to help assist the officers with anything they need help with so they can fulfill the promises they made to the students. By having experienced almost a full year of high school I now have a better understanding of issues affecting kids in my grade. Being a representative will give me an opportunity to present issues that are important to my classmates.
Harper Schmitt – I wish to be an elected member of Student Government because I want to make a change in our school and our grade. I want to make our Sophomore year excited and advocating for everyone’s voices. Making everyone one feel welcomed is an important part of a leader and I feel that I am able to do take on this responsibility. I really like helping others and being a leaders, so this is a great job for me.
Maggie Shaul – I want to be more involved in the Saint Joe community and know what its like at student government. The role of a representative at Saint Joe should look like speaking up for the class as a whole and recognizing their opinions and ideas.
Alexander Slagh – I want to make sure that mistakes that are made are taken care of and everyone can get along with each other, meaning I want everyone to be able to feel comfortable enough to be able to walk through these hallways and not have to worry about bullying, and that’ll be done by me going to the counselors office and having them do a check-in with each student.
Pollie Walters – Being a member of Student Government will allow me to give back to my school community, further develop my leadership skills, and will provide me with opportunities to work with classmates that I wouldn’t normally interact with. I believe that representatives for Student Government should advocate for the student body, as well as strive to build school unity and spirit. I would enjoy contributing by helping plan and facilitate events, and create more opportunities for students to be involved in building a positive and supportive school culture. I want to help make school events more engaging and fun so that each student feels proud to be a St. Joe Huskie.
Lilah Welch – I would like to be elected as a class representative so that I can make sure that everyone, whether involved in student council or not, gets a say in what goes on In our school. As a representative I would be able to make changes in the community that the class of 2028 wants to see. This would include issues that students have but also opinions about how certain events will be such as Homecoming which the Sophomore class is primarily in charge of. As a representative I could play a more active role in our school’s community and in decision making and do this with everyone’s wishes in mind. I plan to represent the many voices in our large class to the best of my abilities if elected.
