Captains Mary Maher (’26) and Peyton Hopkins (’27) were thrilled about the state title victory. Maher expressed, “It felt really good, we had gotten to semi-state for three years in a row and so to finally get there and get it done, it was an amazing experience.”
Hopkins share that “it was really exciting, and it was really cool to just be on a state championship team.” The Huskies had never made it past semi-state, but that streak ended this year. The team is already preparing for their 2026 season, hoping to claim the title again. “We’re preparing by doing weights and then also starting our practices as soon as we can and Coach Josie has us locked in already” Hopkins states.
