Albums of 2020: Student Favorites

Carrie Anderson, Staff Writer

2020 was a year full of tragedy, disease, and disasters. Overall, it was a life-changing year. However, despite all of the craziness 2020 has brought us, it has also brought us great music. So, what are students’ favorite albums of 2020?

Despite there not being as many albums released in 2020 compared to previous years, there were still a few great albums released that most students can agree on. In fact, a personal favorite among students is Circles by Mac Miller. This album was released on January 17th, 2020 and received great reviews. The album encompasses songs that reflect on Mac Miller’s struggle with his mental health and drug abuse. Overall, the album received great ratings and reviews.

Another student favorite is Whole Lotta Red by Playboi Carti. This album was released on December 25th, 2020. It accumulated mixed reviews among critics and his fans. The album is his third studio album, and perhaps one of his best.

Lastly, another student favorite is I’m Gone by Iann Dior. This album was released last summer on June 12th, 2020. It is not a surprise that this is a favorite among students considering his rise of fame throughout 2020. Ian Diorr is a newcomer in the music game, and definitely will not be leaving anytime soon especially after the great reviews from his recent album.

Overall, it is agreeable among most that 2020 delivered great music despite all of the chaos it has also delivered.
