For King and Country

Angel Orozco

For King and Country is a Christian pop duo, both Luke and Joel Smallbone living out a Catholic life and singing songs to praise and adore God. Luke and Joel come from Australia moving to Nashville Tennessee as kids and eventually starting their singing career back in 2007. Their first song called, “Busted Heart (Hold On to Me)”.

We hear later on about the brothers individually, getting to know who they are and what they have been through. Luke is the vocalist for the duo, being sick with “ulcerative colitis” which is a chronic, inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation in the digestive tract. During his illness, Luke and his wife, wrote a song together “Without You.”

A couple years ago the preformed in Indianapolis for NCYC (National Catholic Youth Conference) making everyone sing, and praise God with their music and songs. They have different songs for different moods, if you are happy they have songs that make you smile like “Priceless” if your going through something or need that little boost of motivation and help from God, “Fix my Eyes” is a great song to help with that stress. “Joy” is a good song to help calm down a little and remember all the good days rather than the bad days.

Their music can lift you up in seconds especially if you are the type of person that loves Christian music or if you need a way to talk to God because you have been distant and unsure on how to communicate with him, music helps with reconnecting and talking to God as well as learning how to praise God and thank hm for helping you or simply being with you each day and giving you another day of life
