Gerry Jones is a senior at Saint Joseph High School and a part of the football team and NHS. He has played for four years and is planning to have his best season this year.
Jones has been training and preparing for this season all offseason long and wants to make an impact on the squad. This previous season he did not win NIC kicker of the year and aspires to win that title this year. Last season Jones compiled statistics worthy of consideration, but the award was given to the Adams kicker.
Although he has had success on the field, he has also excelled in the classroom. Since his sophomore year, he has always obtained above a 4.0 GPA and was only slightly off attaining that mark his freshman year. From taking AP and honors classes he plans to keep succeeding in school and get ready for college.
Jones explains about his plan after high school,” I am undecided if I will go to a college for kicking or not.” He is currently interested in pursuing meteorology – probably in a big program as it is one of his passions.
The Saint Joe football team is planning to keep the winning going and Gerry and the special teams unit plan to make an impact. Everyone is excited to see how well this special team’s core can keep going.
