Last week Saint Joe baseball took on the Adams Eagles. The game was a thriller with quite an exciting ending.
Adams was on a roll and had an impressive record of 12-1 and Saint Joe was coming off of a win over Bremen. The game started off with both teams coming out to a strong start scoring 2 in the first after that Adams added 1 in the 3rd and the 7th. The game remained the same until the last inning.
Adams stuck with their starting pitcher for the whole game as he pursued a complete game. After two quick outs, it looked like that was going to be the game until the Eagles pitcher hit not one but two consecutive batters. Then Franco Biffle hit a base clearing double tying the game up. After that Senior Holden Hardisty stepped up to and hit a shot into deep right center field. Biffle scored from second with ease as the Huskies burst out of the dugout to celebrate with Hardisty after a tense game with the Eagles who are looking to make a good run this postseason with a strong bullpen.
The winning pitcher was Jacob Snyder although Brody Zelinski pitched all but one inning with an impressive outing. They battle against Marian this Friday and have a double header against Northridge on Saturday.
